Show off your creativity and love for the environment by entering the 2025 Forest County Conservation District Poster Contest! This year’s theme is:
"Home is Where the Habitat Is"- Hand-Drawn Poster
- Braille Assist Poster
- Additional Assist Poster
- Digital Poster
Grade Categories:
- Kindergarten – 1st Grade
- 2nd – 3rd Grade
- 4th – 6th Grade
- 7th – 9th Grade
- 10th – 12th Grade
Poster Rules:
1. No size requirements for posters.
2. The theme "Home is Where the Habitat Is" must be included.
3. Posters must be flat (no 3-D objects).
4. One entry per student.
What Makes a Good Poster?
- Colorful: Use markers, paint, colored pencils, crayons, charcoal, etc.
- Balance: Mix illustrations and words.
- Legibility: Make sure text is easy to read.
- Attention-Grabbing: Use bold colors and creative space.
Judging Criteria:
- Conservation Message: 50%
- Visual Effectiveness: 30%
- Originality: 10%
- Universal Appeal: 10%
Important Dates:
-Deadline to Submit Posters: Friday, February 21st (Submit to East Forest and West Forest school secretaries)
-Public Voting: Monday, February 24th – Friday, March 21st (Vote at local libraries and on this Facebook page).
-Final Judging: The top 3 entries in each category will be presented at the Forest County Conservation District’s monthly board meeting on Thursday, March 27th, where the board will select the top two posters from each grade category.
Winners will be announced via the local newspaper, this Facebook page, and both schools will be notified.
Prizes:
- 1st Place in each grade category: $50
- 2nd Place in each grade category: $25
All prizes are courtesy of the Forest County Conservation District and Planning Board.
The winning poster from each grade category will also be entered into the statewide contest by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts!
